 Ron Kraybill has worked full-time as a mediator, group facilitator, and trainer in peacebuilding since 1979.   He was founding director of the Mennonite Conciliation Service from 1979 to 1988, director of training at the Centre for Conflict Resolution in Cape Town 1989-1995, and co-founder and professor in the Conflict Transformation Program at Eastern Mennonite University, 1996-2006. The Lombard Mennonite Peace Center offers many resources for church congregations in dealing with conflict. They are schooled both in classic mediation responses as well as family systems approaches taught by the late Rabbi Ed Friedman. Though staffed mostly by Mennonites, the LMPC works with individuals and religious institutions of all backgrounds. Rev. Dr. Larry Foster, along with associating colleagues, is under call to provide seminars on family process and leadership. He is an ordained pastor, family therapist, pastoral counselor, and seminary instructor. Several other associating colleagues also participate in the seminars as presenters. Rev. Dr. Peter L Steinke, a Lutheran pastor and counselor, began to develop the workshops as a result of responses to his book “How Your Church Family Works.” With support from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, the workshops grew and have been expanded and edited since their beginnings in 1994. Dr. Steinke retired from the project in 2005.
